Founder's Story: A chance encounter with a merino sheep farmer ignited a passion within me, sparking an interest in the possibilities of natural solutions for technical apparel. Starting out was challenging, but I was driven by pure belief and perseverance. At the time, synthetics dominated the market, and wool was an underdog.

Over 20 years later, merino-based apparel has captivated wearers worldwide, and we're proud to have played a role in sharing the wonder and brilliance of nature's power. We are constantly humbled by the beauty, resourcefulness, and strength of the natural world.

When people wore our products, they were amazed. Driven by this reaction, I sought extensive help to turn my vision into reality. I wrote a business plan, found eight investors through my friends' parents, and assembled a board of mentors with passion and experience. With a clear vision, Icebreaker was born in 1995 – the little guys with a big idea to connect people with nature, wearing a product from nature.
